Let it snow, let it snow...

Its been snow for the last 2 days or so and we are really buried. Its awesome. You would think we would tire of it, but I think the Texans in us just can't get enough. Robert and the kids have been going on more snowmachine rides, today they dug out the front walkway, it is just so deep out there!

Found out this week that my 20th high school reunion is coming up, they are holding it in Myrtle Beach, SC. around end the of October, Robert offered to pay the way but that is a really long time to fly. Its 9 hrs to Houston, so I can only imagine to SC. It has been great to hear from old friends, everyone has changed so much.

Not too much else going on, I will add new pictures soon!

Spring is near!

Just another busy week in Fairbanks. I went to Parent Teacher conferences this week, my kids are F-in' geniuses! OK, they are doing good and I am proud since I am usually paranoid about what wrong they are up to. Mateo is reading at a 4th grade level comp and all! (he's a 2nd grader) Felicity is improving by leaps and bounds. Thought I would add some Alaska theme photos this week, enjoy...

This guy was riding his bike on the river...

The grill in the backyard, we needed to dig our way to it for lunch!

Felicity and Mateo on their first solo ride!!

Richards Simmons Kissed Me!!!!!

This week has been "Go Red" week, it is to promote awareness in women for heart disease and general women's health. Part of the finale was a chance to "Sweat to the Oldies" with Richard Simmons. Sherri and I were lucky to get tickets and had a fabulous time, as for me I got a raspberry on my check and a kiss--ewwwww! I was such a shocking moment!! Especially since everyone knows how NOT touchy feely I am!!!

We survived City's slumber party, only 3 came and 2 spent the nite. Our house was a whirl of giggles and whispers. They ate 3 pizzas, lots of cake, drank coke and stayed up until 3 am. It was a exhausting first slumber party for mom. It took me back to the days I was a summer coordinator at Nazareth Academy.

Can you believe its Saturday again! Wasn't it just Monday. Man, the weeks are just flying by--to summer I hope! Had a lot of snow flurries and warmer weather. Warm for Alaska anyway, yesterday it was 9 above. :)

Alej seems to have mastered his wheel chair, when he wants to go he does! But if he is even a little cranky its up to us to push him. He has learned in little than two weeks how to reverse and take corners. My eyes have been opened to how many business are barely ADA approved. We have such a hard time going in and out of everywhere - mostly the snow makes it hard to plow through with the wheel chair. Then his hands get wet if his gloves fall off. It's all too much at times but we keep going. Good news is with all his standing therapy he has finally started to grow. He is slimming out and out growing his clothes, he was wearing 12-18mths and it looks like he will finally move up.

Mateo had a super week, made a 100% on his spelling test and was generally a great help. He is always so eager to help Alej out or me with lifting the wheel chair in and out of the car. He is really turning out to be a character-he makes us laugh ALOT. This picture is a prime example.

He is starting to grow again so he is super thin. I try to feed him all the time but no luck. Yes, that is his UT jersey from Christmas...he wears it 3-4 times a week. I have to steal it from his room while he sleeps and wash and get the funk out.

We-the parents got to have DATE NIGHT for the first time in never. A great couple we know volunteered to watch all 3!!! We were so excited we didn't even know how or what to do. In the end we went to see TAKEN, it was a great movie but for all of you who have lived overseas it make you nervous for your daughters. We had a great time only thing is we are not used to being "up" so late that we were exhausted by the time we got out of the movie. Our friends - who are fellow Texans offered to have them stay the night next time. Ummm...sounds like a good idea. We shall see. Have a great weekend all! We are off to the museum-its having an open house today--which means FREE! Skiing if the weather warms up and family game time. :) Oh and my 2 cram sessions of working-out and burning tons of calories before Mondays weigh in. grrrrrr. :(
